Such kind of transportation is the most widespread where intercontinental transportation of large cargoes is required and because of reliability and fairly low cost. However it has to be noted that it is the longest type of delivery in terms of time. For example, transportation of a container from the port of New York city to Saint-Petersburg may last 20-30 days. Despite all this, industry of ocean transportation is rapidly developing - over the last 15 years, volume of cargoes transported by seas and oceans has increased by 50% and the global cargo flow rate in terms of money is over 4.5 trillion US dollars a year.

Imex offers a complete set of services as regards intercontinental transportation of import-export cargoes which includes:

  • Complete forwarding service of cargo transportation including issuing bills of lading, transport documents, forwarding certificates and receipts.
  • Ocean and sea transportation of packed and piece cargoes in boxes, bags or bunches, on trays and also in soft containers for bulked cargo (big bags).
  • Ocean and sea transportation of long-length, outsized and heavy cargoes.
  • Ocean and sea transportation of wheel and caterpillar vehicles.
  • Customs clearance of cargoes in the ports of embarkation and ports of debarkation: export-import clearing and get-up of transit.
  • Insurance of the transported cargo for the period of transportation.
  • Monitoring and inspection of cargo safety before start of transportation in the port of embarkation and after end of transportation - in the port of debarkation (survey).
  • Marine container transportation for which we provide the following service:
    • Consolidation of small batches of cargo from different consignors into one container for one consignee.
    • Breaking-up of the container cargo of one consignor in the port of debarkation into separate batches for different consignees.
    • Transportation of small batches of cargo of one consignor to one consignee in a composite container.
    • Change of cargo address in the process of transportation.
    • Storage of containers at port facilities.
